The Local Area

The Dun laoghaire area and adjacent town lands of Dalkey and Killiney is home to many famous names such as Hugh Leonard, Bono, Chris De Burgh, Enya, Eddy Irvine, Neil Jordan and Lisa Stansfield. Dalkey village which is within walking distance from Ferry House is designated as a heritage town and has history dating back over 3,500 years. Dalkey and Dun Laoghaire also have an excellent choice of pubs and restaurants. Also nearby is Sandycove, which is best known for its Martello tower, now the James Joyce Museum.
